Bouncy Castle Hire in Sittingbourne
Sittingbourne is the eastern end of our patch and the fastest-changing part of it. Between the newer estates at Great Easthall, the developments spreading toward Bobbing and Iwade, and the established streets of Milton Regis, Murston, Kemsley and Borden, the gardens we set up in here look very different from the ones in Medway - and that changes our advice.
We cover ME9 and ME10, including the villages: Bapchild, Tunstall, Borden, Bobbing, Iwade, Newington and out toward Rodmersham. Check your date on the live diary or call 07479 969229.
New-build gardens: smaller, but easier
If you are on one of the newer Sittingbourne estates, your garden is probably compact, flat, freshly turfed and reached through a standard-width side gate. That is a mixed picture for us.
The good news: level ground and clean access make for a fast, tidy setup with no drama. The catch is square footage. A standard castle needs a 12ft x 15ft pitch plus clearance around the sides, and a lot of new-build lawns are narrower than that once you subtract the patio and the border. Two things solve it:
- Measure the usable lawn before you choose a castle, and give us the figures. Exact dimensions are on every product page and we will happily tell you what fits.
- Consider a disco dome instead. Enclosed on all sides with a smaller footprint but real height, disco domes are the item we most often recommend for a compact new-build garden - you get music, lights and a proper bouncing area without needing a large lawn.
One new-build-specific point: freshly laid turf over builder's soil can be soft, and pegs sometimes need to go deeper. It is never a problem, but do not be surprised if we spend a couple of extra minutes anchoring.
Older Sittingbourne: Milton Regis, Murston and Kemsley
The reverse applies here. Gardens tend to be longer and more generous - often the best in our whole coverage area for a big inflatable - but access can be the sticking point. Terraces around Milton Regis and Murston frequently have a narrow side alley or a shared passage as the only route through, and we need roughly 3ft clear at the tightest point. Mature hedging, a wheelie bin store or a meter box will often be the actual obstruction rather than the gate.
Where a garden is long but narrow, the sensible answer is a unit that suits the shape rather than the largest one that theoretically fits. Send us a rough length and width and we will match it.
The best venues in Sittingbourne
Sittingbourne has the biggest indoor spaces of anywhere we deliver, which makes it an excellent town for a large party or a multi-item setup:
- The Woodstock (Sittingbourne FC) - a genuinely large space, and the one to book if you want a multi-piece party package rather than a single castle.
- Swallows Leisure Centre - dedicated party rooms and a set-up that suits soft play and toddler castles particularly well.
- Lakeview Village Hall, Great Easthall - modern, spacious, with good indoor clearance for disco domes and useful outdoor space for summer parties. Our first suggestion for anyone on the Great Easthall side.
- Tunstall Village Hall - Tunstall Road, ME10 1YZ - 07899 001186.
- Bapchild Village Hall - School Lane, Bapchild, ME9 9NL - 01795 429625.
- Newington Village Hall - High Street, Newington, ME9 7JJ - 01795 844637, if you are at the Medway end of ME9.
Always ask the venue for the clear height under the lowest beam or light rather than the ceiling apex. Standard castles need 10ft (3.05m) and disco domes and slides need more again. The larger Sittingbourne venues rarely have a height problem, which is precisely why we recommend them for the taller units.
For clarity: we have no affiliation with any venue listed and receive no commission or incentive. Contact details were correct at the time of posting so please confirm them with the hall. It remains your responsibility to check the space and, where possible, to view and measure it - if a venue tells you an inflatable will fit and on the day it does not, we cannot be held liable, and the full balance is still charged, as we publish accurate measurements for every unit on our website. Our complete hall list covers the rest of Kent.
What we send to Sittingbourne
Three things dominate the ME9/ME10 diary. Themed castles from £90 for the four-plus age group. Disco domes for the compact new-build gardens and for winter hall parties. And full party packages for The Woodstock and Swallows, where the space genuinely justifies multiple items running side by side.
For the youngest guests, toddler soft play starts at £150 and is a natural fit for the party rooms at Swallows. And for school fetes and summer fairs on the village greens and playing fields around Bapchild, Tunstall, Borden and Iwade, our assault courses and larger slides handle crowds properly.
Delivery timings out east
Sittingbourne is the furthest point on our regular round, so we plan it carefully. Garden deliveries fall between 7am and 11am and collections between 5pm and 8pm; ME10 and ME9 addresses are usually scheduled deliberately rather than fitted in, so if you need a specific window tell us at the booking stage and we will build the day around it. Hall hires always work to your venue's own access and clear-down times.
Overnight hire is available in a secure enclosed garden for an extra charge, and out here it can be a practical choice - it takes the pressure off a tight evening collection.
Insurance, testing and hall paperwork
All our inflatables are inspected annually to PIPA or RPII standard, our electrical equipment is PAT tested, and we carry £5 million public liability insurance as members of the BIHA. Swale venues, and Swallows in particular, will typically want to see insurance and test certificates before your booking is confirmed - ask us and we will send the paperwork the same day so it never becomes a last-minute scramble.
Frequently asked in Sittingbourne
My new-build garden is small. What do you suggest?
A disco dome, usually. It has a smaller footprint than a standard castle but full height and an enclosed design, so children get a proper party in a modest garden. Send us your lawn dimensions and we will confirm.
What is a disco dome?
A fully enclosed inflatable with netted sides, internal disco lighting and a music connection. It stays cooler in summer, keeps the rain out, and works indoors as well as out - provided the hall has the height.
Do you charge extra to come to Sittingbourne?
No. ME9 and ME10 are within our standard delivery area, villages included.
Which venue takes the most equipment?
The Woodstock at Sittingbourne FC for sheer scale, with Swallows Leisure Centre the better option for soft play and toddler parties.
Can you set up on a school field for a summer fair?
Yes, we do a number of fetes and fairs each season. We will need to see the field, discuss power or generator arrangements, and provide your risk assessment and insurance documents in advance.
How far ahead should I book a summer Saturday?
As early as possible. Summer Saturdays across ME9 and ME10 are the first dates to go, especially in the school holidays.
