Bouncy Castle Hire in Chatham

Chatham is the busiest part of our delivery round, and after years of parties across ME4 and ME5 we have set up in most corners of it - the terraces above Chatham town centre, the estates at Walderslade and Lordswood, the newer builds on St Mary's Island, and the family gardens around Luton, Wayfield, Princes Park and the Davis Estate.

Chatham gardens: the access problem nobody mentions

Two things catch Chatham customers out, and both are fixable if we know in advance.

Side gates and alleyways. A lot of housing between Luton Road, Magpie Hall Road and Listmas Road is Victorian or Edwardian terrace, which means the only route to the back garden is a narrow side passage or a shared alley. Our inflatables are rolled and trolleyed in, so we need a clear run of roughly 3ft. If your gate is tighter than that, tell us when you book - we carry smaller units that fit through most standard doorways, and we can bring a castle through the house on dust sheets if that is the only option.

Slopes. Walderslade, Lordswood, Weedswood and the roads climbing up from the Brook are genuinely steep, and plenty of gardens there are terraced or tiered. A bouncy castle needs a reasonably level pitch to be safe. If your lawn is on a noticeable slope we will usually recommend siting the unit across the slope rather than down it, or moving to the flattest section even if that is not where you imagined it. A quick photo of your garden sent over before the day saves everyone time.

Parking. On the tighter residential streets around Luton and Brompton we will need to get the van close to your gate for a few minutes at each end of the day. If your road is permit-only or usually rammed, a saved space in front of the house makes a real difference to a 7am delivery.

• The Victory Academy Sports Hall - Magpie Hall Road, ME4 5JB - 03333 60204. A full sports hall, so height is not an issue - this is where our assault courses make sense.
• Cartwright Hall, Holcombe Grammar School - Letchworth Avenue, ME4 6JB - 03333 60204. Bookings for both Holcombe sites run through Thinking Fitness.
• Hook Meadow Community Centre - King George Road, Walderslade, ME5 0TZ - 01634 331942. The obvious choice if you are up the hill and would rather not travel down into town.
• All Saints Church Hall - Listmas Road, Luton, ME4 5LJ - 01634 566847.

Whichever you choose, the number to check before you book anything with us is the ceiling height. Most of our standard castles need at least 10ft (3.05m) of clear height, and our slides need considerably more. Ring the venue, ask for the height under any beams or light fittings rather than the height of the roof apex, then match it against the measurements on the product page.

What Chatham families tend to book

Our Chatham bookings split fairly cleanly. Garden parties in ME5 lean towards themed castles from £90 - superhero, princess, jungle and dinosaur are the ones that go first in the school holidays. Hall parties in ME4 tend towards our combined castle and soft play packages, because a hall gives you the floor area to run both at once and keeps the under-threes away from the bigger children.

For first birthdays and christenings, toddler soft play from £150 is the safer bet - ball pit, rockers and safety matting, all sized for little ones. And if you are marking a school fete or a community event on one of the bigger fields, our assault courses and inflatable slides are built for that kind of crowd.

Delivery and timings in Chatham

Because Chatham is close to our base in Gillingham, we can often be flexible at both ends of the day. Standard garden hires are delivered between 7am and 11am and collected between 5pm and 8pm. Hall hires work strictly to your venue's booked slot - tell us your access and clear-down times when you book and we will build the day around them.

Setting up or taking down usually takes about 20 minutes depending on the size of the unit, and we always arrive ahead of your start time rather than on it. Overnight hire is available in a secure garden if you would like longer.

Safety, insurance and paperwork

Every inflatable we own is inspected annually to RPII or PIPA standard, all electrical equipment is PAT tested, and we hold £5 million public liability insurance. We are members of the BIHA. Chatham's school and community halls will nearly always ask to see insurance before they let you set up - ask us and we will send the documents straight over, well before the day.

Chatham questions we get asked

My side gate is narrow - can you still deliver?

Usually, yes. We need roughly 3ft of clear access to trolley a rolled inflatable through. Measure the narrowest point, including any bin store or meter box that sticks out, and tell us the figure when you book. If it is tight we will match you to a unit that fits, or bring it through the house.

My garden in Walderslade slopes. Is that a problem?

A gentle slope is normally workable; a pronounced one is not, for safety reasons. Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before you pay rather than on the morning.

Which Chatham hall takes your biggest inflatables?

St Mary's Island Community Centre for height, or The Victory Academy sports hall for sheer floor area. Both have handled our larger units comfortably.

Do you cover Walderslade and Lordswood as well as Chatham town?

Yes - all of ME4 and ME5, including Walderslade, Lordswood, Weedswood, Luton, Wayfield, Princes Park, the Davis Estate, Brompton, Horsted and Chatham Maritime.

What happens if it rains?

Most of our castles have fitted rain covers and will run through light showers. If high winds or heavy rain are forecast we may have to cancel on safety grounds, and you will be offered a date change. You can also cancel yourself up to 8am on the morning at no charge.
