Bouncy Castle Hire in Gravesend

Gravesend is the western edge of our round, and it is two very different patches of work. There is the town itself and Northfleet - terraced streets, compact gardens, and a lot of halls and community centres that take indoor parties year-round. Then there are the villages out beyond the A2: Meopham, Istead Rise, Shorne, Higham and Cobham, where gardens are bigger, lanes are narrower, and a village hall is very often the better plan.

We cover DA11, DA12 and DA13 - Gravesend town, Northfleet, Pelham, Denton, King's Farm, Painters Ash, Singlewell, Riverview Park and Perry Street, and the villages through Meopham, Istead Rise, Shorne, Higham, Cobham and Luddesdown. DA postcodes are outside our free ME-postcode delivery area, so a delivery charge applies (confirm the exact figure when you book); minimum order is £70.

Gardens in Gravesend and Northfleet

Town-centre and Northfleet gardens are the familiar compact ones. A lot of the Victorian and Edwardian terraces off Pelham Road, King's Farm and Denton have a side passage as the only route to the back - we need roughly 3ft of clear access to trolley a rolled inflatable through. If your gate is tighter, tell us at booking; we carry smaller units that fit through most doorways, and we can bring a castle through the house on dust sheets if that is the only option.

Singlewell, Riverview Park and Perry Street are mostly newer estates with flat, compact lawns. Measure the usable grass before you choose a unit - a standard castle needs a 12ft x 15ft pitch plus clearance around the sides. If your lawn is on the small side, a disco dome or a bounce-and-slide combo is often the better fit: full height, enclosed, and it works indoors as well as out.

Out in the villages - Meopham, Istead Rise, Shorne, Higham, Cobham - gardens are usually the upside. The catch is access: the lanes around Shorne Ridgeway and Cobham are narrow, high-hedged and occasionally single-track. Satnav is unreliable on some of them, so a what3words reference or a good landmark with your booking saves real time. If your only flat area is a patio or block paving, we anchor with sandbags instead of pegs - just tell us the surface so we bring the right kit.

Halls we deliver to in Gravesham

Gravesend has a good choice of indoor space, which is why winter and wet-weather parties are straightforward here. These are venues we have delivered to, with the contact details we hold:

  • View Point Community Centre - Cervia Way, Gravesend DA12 4LF - 01474 568522. A modern, spacious centre on the east side of town; comfortably takes our bounce-and-slide combos and taller themed units.
  • Sheers Green Community Centre - 9 Westcott Avenue, Northfleet DA11 7HP - book through Gravesham Borough Council (01474 337000). Convenient for Northfleet and Pelham; best for medium-sized castles and soft play.
  • Meopham Village Hall - Wrotham Road, Meopham DA13 0AT - 07377 538642. Three rooms, so it works for a soft-play toddler party or a full multi-item setup.
  • Cobham Village Hall - Brewers Road, Cobham DA12 3BL - 01474 823371. Good ceiling clearance for standard 12x15 castles.
  • St George's Church Hall - Church Street, Gravesend DA11 0DJ - contact via St George's Gravesend office. Central, with a stage; book early as availability is limited.
  • New Ash Green Village Hall - New Ash Green - 01474 872691. The obvious choice if you are on the Longfield/Meopham border.

The number that matters before you book anything with us is the clear height under the lowest beam or light fitting, not the roof apex. Most of our standard castles need at least 10ft (3.05m); slides and taller themed units need more. Every product page lists exact measurements.

We list these halls only to help you plan. We have no affiliation with any of them and receive no commission. Details were correct at the time of posting - confirm directly with the venue. It stays your responsibility to check the space and, where possible, view and measure it yourself; if a venue tells you an inflatable will fit and on the day it does not, we cannot be held liable and the balance is still payable. Our fuller list of halls covers the rest of Kent.

What Gravesend families book

Hall bookings in town lean towards our combined castle and soft play packages, because a hall gives you the floor area to run both at once and keeps the under-threes separate from the bigger children. Garden parties skew towards themed castles from £90 - superhero, princess, jungle and dinosaur go first in the school holidays.

For first birthdays and christenings, toddler soft play from £150 is the safer bet - ball pit, rockers and safety matting, all sized for little ones. And for school fairs, village fetes and community days on the playing fields around Meopham, Shorne and Higham, our assault courses and larger slide units are built for a queue of children rather than a single birthday party. Add-ons - candy floss, popcorn and party games - fill a hall slot nicely.

Delivery and timings in Gravesend

Because Gravesend is at the western edge of our round, we schedule it deliberately rather than fitting it in. Garden deliveries run between 7am and 11am with collections between 5pm and 8pm. If you need a particular window - especially out in the villages - say so at the booking stage and we will build the day around it. Hall hires always work to your venue's access and clear-down times. Overnight hire is available in a secure enclosed garden for an extra charge, and out here it is often the practical choice - it takes the pressure off a tight evening collection.

Safety, insurance and paperwork

Every inflatable we own is inspected annually to PIPA or RPII standard, all electrical equipment is PAT tested, and we carry £5 million public liability insurance as members of the BIHA. Gravesham halls and school offices will nearly always ask to see certificates before they confirm your booking - ask us and we will email the paperwork the same day, well before the day.

Questions from Gravesend customers

Do you really deliver to Meopham, Istead Rise and Higham?

Yes - all of DA13 is part of our regular Gravesend round, including Shorne, Cobham, Luddesdown and the villages along the A2. A delivery charge applies outside the ME postcodes; confirm the figure when you book.

My garden in Northfleet only has a side alley. Can you still get a castle in?

Usually, yes. We need about 3ft clear at the tightest point - measure it, including any bin store or meter box, and tell us the figure when you book. If it is tight we will match you to a smaller unit or bring it through the house on dust sheets.

Which Gravesend hall takes your biggest inflatables?

View Point Community Centre for height and floor space, with Meopham Village Hall the best of the village options. Both have comfortably handled our larger units.

What happens if it rains or is windy?

Most of our castles have fitted rain covers and run through light showers. High wind is different - we work to a strict safety limit and will cancel rather than risk it, offering a date change. You can also cancel yourself free of charge up to 8am on the morning of your hire.

Is there a delivery charge to Gravesend?

DA postcodes sit outside our free ME-postcode delivery area, so a charge applies (DA4 is currently £40; confirm the exact figure for your postcode at booking). Minimum order is £70.

How much ceiling height do I need in a hall?

At least 10ft (3.05m) for a standard castle, measured to the lowest obstruction, and more for slides and taller themed units. Each product page lists the exact height.
